- Trolling The Highways, LIKE A BOSS!
I got up at 7 and decided to take a shower and get dressed as I had a class at 9. After I was done, I quickly went to pack up and organised my belongings to ensure I didn’t leave anything out for my trip back to Penang. So, off I went towards college at 8. Since I arrived early, I decided to go ahead and look for my shoes which I left behind the day before. As I was searching, I realised that none of the Student Council members were around to retrieve the shoes which were kept in the Student Council Room. Few seconds later, I received a message from Ying Yi who was asking about the class and why there weren’t anyone there at that time. Obviously, the both of us were half-an-hour early. Who arrives that early just for class? Not everyone I dare say. So I accompanied her for a chat and then I texted Teddy to collect my shoes from the room when he arrives. 20 minutes later, people started to walk in and I noticed that someone was out of place.
Isaiah: Eh, Jo Ey! What are you doing here? No class right
today?
Jo Ey: Yeah. Just come here to study.
Isaiah: What? Study? At home cannot study ar?
Jo Ey: A lot of distractions ma..
Isaiah: Distractions? What do you mean?
Jo Ey: There, television downstairs…
Ying Yi: Then computer some more…
Isaiah: Lol?
Sounds valid to me, though. I admit I do get distracted most of the time due to those problems. So anyway, we headed to class at exactly 9 a.m. The lecturer was already there by the time we entered class. Oh yeah. This was something the lecturer said to me the moment she saw me.
Lecturer: Isaiah.
Isaiah: *turns around, looking shocked* Yes?
Lecturer: Why you so dark?
Isaiah: Oh, basketball, teacher.
Lecturer: *smiles*
What the heck. I thought I was caught doing something wrong or whatsoever. I wasn’t expecting a lecturer to address me just to ask why I became darker. Haha. At 11, I received 3 messages from my father, mother and brother all at the same time which said, “We are here already.” Wow. What amazing communications. Haha. Once class was over, I immediately collected my shoes and my journey towards Penang started. Not so fast. I needed my lunch. Haha. So my father brought us to the food court which is at the highway to enjoy some Kajang Satay or whatever it’s called. When we were done, the next few hours were black. I fell asleep in the car after my lunch because I only slept at 2 the night before due to, the PS3. Hehe. So when I woke up, my father asked the question I was waiting for so long.
Dad: You wanna drive or not?
Isaiah: *puts on sunglasses* Did someone say drive?
Hehe. This was my first time on the highway and the adrenaline rush was fun especially when it came to overtaking cars at a relatively high speed. I drove for an hour or two until my father told me to change drivers as the Penang bridge was jammed due to the rain. We arrived in Penang at 6.30 then we went to my grandmother’s house and rested for a short while before we headed for dinner. I had a big bowl of Hokkien mee or Prawn mee (some people call the dish by that name) and I still believe that the portion in Penang was still quite big even at that price. So when we were done, we went back to my uncle’s place for the night as we will be staying there for the whole trip. As we transported our belongings to the house..
Isaiah: See, mummy. I told you two sons are better right?
Mum: Why?
Isaiah: You think we’ll be able to finish carrying all our stuff in
one go if you had two daughters?
Mum: Ah, yeah la, yeah la. You all strong la.
Haha. This was always the topic when we went travelling. Mind you, the stuff we brought back weren’t just bags. There were boxes, plastic bags laden with goods and LUGGAGES. Luckily my brother was grown up. Or else I would be the only one putting everything on my back as my dad was busy parking the car. I guess there isn’t anything interesting after that. Definitely hope tomorrow would provide some fun and life into this trip. I seriously prefer staying in Melaka or KL. At least I get to play some basketball here. Haha.
