Now, the title isn’t what it seems but this was what happened two days ago..

Isaiah: Eh, Jo Ey, your birthday is tomorrow right?
Where are you guys planning to go to?

Jo Ey: Don’t know wor. Karaoke lo. (mind you, I
might not be able to remember exactly every
word she said) Can you come ar? Join us.

Isaiah: Karaoke? *rolls eyes*
Jo Ey: Why? Don’t wanna come?
Isaiah: No, no. Cannot say like that. FRIEND’S
           BIRTHDAY IS IMPORTANT WAN.

           MUST GO.

This was what happened earlier yesterday..
Isaiah: Eh, Jo Ey, today your party, I cannot go la…
Jo Ey: ? Why? You sick is it?
Isaiah: Erm.. no la. My friend just downloaded a new
computer game. I WANNA GO HOME AND PLAY.
           Sorry ar..

Jo Ey: Ah, if cannot go then never mind la. (I think she
showed a disappointed face but never mind)

Anyway, I wasn’t that selfish, alright? Ask any of my friends, I would never ditch an opportunity to go out with them even if I had a game that I wanted to play badly. NEVER. Friends are irreplaceable and this goes ESPECIALLY to Terence Foo. I’m not treating you guys as secondary friends. Back to the topic, the plan was, a few of us would come up with ridiculous but effective excuses to leave Jo Ey to celebrate her birthday with only Michelle, Pei Yin, Jessica and Shu Ern. Sounds cruel but hey, you need a few sacrifices to ensure that a surprise party goes according to plan. So immediately after the Bio extra class, all of us gave our very own bona fide excuse, leaving Jo Ey disappointed in the college. Little did she know that the 6 of us, Teddy, Siew Tsien, Reuben, Ying Yi, Ivan and I were already making our way to Pavillion. After much complaining of my walking speed later, we finally arrived at our destination and we discussed about the place and where to meet up. After everything was laid out and settled, I separated myself from the group as they went for lunch and I went away alone to look for sporting apparels. At 1.45 p.m, we met up at the rendezvous point and proceeded into the room. Playing with the lights and annoying the rest with my mischief was totally fun but after they started yelling, I stopped for a moment. Keyword, MOMENT. Hehe. We eventually got a call from Pei Yin that Jo Ey was arriving and everyone started panicking.

Teddy: Hide, hide! Don’t let her see us!
Siew Tsien: Quick! All hide behind something!
Ying Yi/ Ivan/ Siew Tsien: Let’s go hide in the toilet la!
Isaiah: Good idea! It looks like someone is having difficulty
           hiding himself. *looks at Teddy*

All: Oh my goodness, Isaiah!
Isaiah: *shrugs* Hehe.

Back to the topic, we had some “bonding time” in the toilet since everyone was practically stuffed inside. I have to admit, that is a big toilet. We still had space to move around and play with the cake. Then, the moment of truth. Voices could be heard outside. Ketibaan Yang-Dipertuan. We waited for a minute and all of us just walked out, practically screaming “Happy Birthday!” Well, not me but they did. What happened next was totally unexpected. Tears. Jo Ey shed tears of happiness and utter joy at the mere sight of us and her cake. Everyone was like, “OMG! Jo Ey’s crying!”, “Don’t cry la.” and all that. When she gathered herself, we sang the birthday song and then, the part I personally liked the most.

Teddy: Eh, dear, why you cry?
Jo Ey: Ya la. You all tell me not coming. Your mum don’t let
la, Siew Tsien busy la, Reuben disappeared la and
           Isaiah got computer games la.

Teddy: LOL. Did Isaiah tell you that?
Jo Ey: Ya la. Then yesterday he said friends are important
           some more..

Isaiah: HAHAHAHA!!

I couldn’t help it. My plan worked out to near perfection. The next few hours was hell. Not as in a torturing way or whatsoever. NOISY HELL. I never liked a noisy environment with girls screaming and what’s worse, a DRAMA QUEEN.. wait, DRAMA QUEENS like Pei Yin and Teddy who were SCREECHING at the sight of their song being played. I enjoyed myself though. Practically singing my heart out was what I did back then when I was the worship leader in Young Life so I guess this was like practice to me. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Everyone started to leave as it was getting late and eventually, there were only 6 of us left. The birthday girl, Pei Yin, Jessica, Michelle, Teddy and I. We discussed about where would be our next destination as I was planning to go to Low Yat to get myself a new graphic card. As we were walking out, two figures came up to us with wide grins. Kenny and Jordan showed up with plastic bags in their hands. The look on Jo Ey’s face was pure happiness. The puzzle was complete. After Kenny gave her a hug and her present, nothing else mattered. She could be seen smiling dreamily until she separated from us to go home with him. Mind you, as in he accompanied her back, not the other thing. So anyway, we went around Pavillion to look for Guardian but failed so we went to Watson’s and Caring Pharmacy. After Michelle bought her perfume, Pei Yin pestered Teddy and us to go to Forever 21 to look at clothes. We did exactly that and then after all was done, we left Pei Yin at Lot 10 as her dad was going to pick her up there. Then it was only the four of us. Again with the complaining of my walking speed..

Teddy: Isaiah! Don’t walk so fast la! The girls are tired la.
Isaiah: What? This is my normal walking speed la.
Jessica: Next time your girlfriend sure get lost in the crowd wan.
Isaiah: That’s the point. My girlfriend has to walk, JUST LIKE ME.
Michelle: Homg. Like that is normal meh?
Jessica: Ya la. Then if fast walking speed how?
Isaiah: That would be your running speed.

Hehe. The comebacks I come up with. Just irresistible and intolerable. So we walked and walked until I finally reached the store and purchased my brand new Sapphire HD 5670 graphic card. Woohoo! Anyway, this was another interesting conversation..

Teddy: Buy adi ar?
Isaiah: Yeah.
Teddy: How much is it?
Isaiah: 240.
Teddy: Oh my God. Then you complain about our
            spending?

Isaiah: Point is, I spend on something which will last
me for years. Do you think your clothes will
           last you for a year?
Another masterpiece. Terence Foo, this is the result of a full year of training in school. Haha. Finally, all of our businesses were settled and we went back home. Michelle and I followed Teddy back to the Taman Jaya A&W for a light snack while we waited for Michelle’s sister to come. After a few interesting conversations, Teddy made a move and left the two of us there. 15 minutes later, Michelle’s sister showed up and I went on my way home. Dinner was spicier than usual today because of the extra black pepper sauce in my cheese-baked rice. I guess this was one of the full-days that I have in my life. I left home at 9 and I arrived home at 9.30. 12 hours out of home. Hope I didn’t worry my aunt and uncle. Going back to Melaka today! Can’t wait to see you guys at my new place in the afternoon!
