I could still remember what I told Jessica on Saturday through Facebook.

Isaiah: Eh, Jessica, we’re not baking cake tomorrow adi.
Jessica: Hah? Why?
Isaiah: Our butter melted. Lol.
Jessica: LOL. Jo Ey told me you bought the wrong flour and
             sugar also.

Isaiah: Yeah, that too. Hehe.

I was lying though. Everything was perfectly in place ALTHOUGH we DID buy the wrong flour and sugar. The only thing I was lying about, was obviously the butter. Hehe. So I guess I pretty much dashed Jessica’s hope of spending some time with Michelle, Jo Ey and me on her birthday to bake a cake but what she didn’t know was we were planning to give those cupcakes we had in mind to her today. This was my account on what happened on Sunday and today.

Sunday
I woke up at 7 with great difficulty due to lack of sleep throughout the night. I only managed to catch 4 hours of sleep because I was talking to Jo Ey the night before till 3 in the morning. I reluctantly got out of bed and tidied the place up, showered and dressed up properly as I was going to meet Michelle and attend her church. I left home at 8.45 and as I was waiting for the LRT to arrive, I saw an opportunity for a early morning laugh. I received a text from Michelle and I decided to pull a prank on her.

Isaiah: SHIT! I just woke up! HOW?!
Michelle: HOMGGG! Faster go bathe and get ready la!
Isaiah: Just joking. On my way to Taman Jaya already. Hehe.
Michelle: HOMG! You nearly make me scold you la. ISAIAHH!!
               GRR!!

Isaiah: Hehe. Chill la. Reaching adi la. You don’t be late can adi.

Haha. I can always sense the perfect opportunity to pull a prank on ANYONE and by anyone, I mean ANYONE. So, Michelle and her sister picked me up from the LRT station and brought me to their church. I was stunned by the size of their compound. It could easily be twice the size of mine and I was very impressed by the number of people present in the congregation and also the pastor. His sermon on Father’s Day really made me think twice on how I treated my dad and to also realise that I love him and my mum as well. Anyway, after church, we picked Jo Ey up from the Taman Jaya station as well and we went on our way to another church as Michelle’s sister was required to sing at a wedding and she had to practice for it. While we were waiting, the three of us exchanged personal opinions and thoughts about marriage as well as commitment. I’m guessing the girls were kind of surprised at the way I looked at these issues as they totally weren’t expecting a person like me to respond in such a manner. Anyway, when Michelle’s sister was done with her practice, we went back to her church and took our lunch at some Indian restaurant which had its prices made us pay through our noses. Imagine eating a plate of rice with just vegetables and a portion of fried fish and ending up paying RM 9.60 for what I call a meal for a beggar. The food in that shop is seriously overrated but Michelle insisted that the food the place served was good. We didn’t want to debate much about it so we walked back to the church. On our way there..

Isaiah: *prepares to cross the road* Let’s go!
Michelle: *tags alongside*
Jo Ey: *squeals* WAIITT!!
Michelle: *jerks Isaiah’s hand and pulls
               him forward*
AAHHH!!!

Isaiah: *stunned momentarily and follows* WHAT THE HECK!
Michelle: Oh my God, Jo Ey, why you scream?
Isaiah: WHY YOU PULL MY HAND ON THE GOD DAMN ROAD?
Michelle: I heard Jo Ey scream then I thought what happened la..
Jo Ey: Sorry la.. I saw you both cross without me then I scared
           you all leave me alone..

Isaiah: *curses to self* You seriously could have gotten me
killed. DON’T PULL MY HAND AND DRAG ME ACROSS
           THE ROAD!

Michelle: Sorry la. Scared ma.

THAT was a life-threatening incident. Thank God the cars weren’t speeding towards us. If they were, I would be typing my epitaph instead of my blog post. So we continued on our way back while chatting along and when we reached, we decided to hang around in the field of the church. Michelle busied herself with pictures and also her church friend while Jo Ey and I sat and listened to a few songs till about 4.30(!) before her sister came out from her meeting. We quickly headed home, hoping that there was still enough time for us to bake those cupcakes. It was the first time for all of us and we didn’t know if it would turn out well for the three of us, not in that manner and Terence Foo, stop grinning to yourself. I had experiences with baking by watching my mother produce wonderful pieces from the oven after an hour or two of hard work. So as we reached Michelle’s home, we immediately placed our things down and got to work. I laid all of the ingredients on the table and looked for the mixer to start making the batter. I followed my mother’s every instruction to the dot and we managed to overcome every obstacle that came in our way such as the absence of a proper weighing scale, oven and trays. We did whatever we could and at the end, I was still afraid that the cakes wouldn’t turn out as I noticed that the batter wasn’t as thick as it was supposed to be. Since we could only afford a one-time effort, we settled for the batter we made and filled the tiny cups with it. As I placed the trays with the cupcakes into the oven, I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. As we waited for the cakes to rise, we watched the video that everyone made for Jessica’s birthday and when we were finished watching, I went on to convert Jo Ey’s laptop to allow it to operate on Windows 7. Suddenly, TING! I immediately left all that I was doing at the moment and rushed to the oven. I nearly fainted the moment I saw this..

Hehe. I danced around, clapped and called the girls over to take a look at the beauties that were in the oven. They reacted the same as I did and we felt that we finally accomplished something even when we were short-handed due to the lack of experience and also ingredients. I guess success was SWEET in the end. Haha. So after we were done with the second batch of cupcakes, we decided to make a special one for Michelle’s father since it was Father’s Day. Michelle gratefully accepted the cupcake and took it to her father when we were done decorating it. Although they shrank during the process of cooling, it still looked pretty good in a sense that they were still in shape even after cooling.

So when they were finally cool enough to be decorated, we continued with the icing which turned out to be too pink. We regretted what we bought but what’s done was already done so we continued with the decoration anyway. It turned out to look like this after the decoration..

It looked so good until it made me want to just pop one into my mouth but since it was for the next day, I patiently waited to present Jessica with the final touch to end her birthday on a nicer note. So we went home and Jo Ey tagged along for dinner. Cheese baked rice for dinner definitely hit the spot and it lightened up my mood after a hard day’s work. So ends today until..

Monday
… I WOKE UP AT 8! I was so late as we were supposed to be in college at 8. I immediately rushed down the stairs, showered and rushed to dress myself. During the process of rushing, I nearly fell off the stairs as I was running up with my feet partially wet. Thank God nothing happened and I hurried along to the LRT station. I texted Jo Ey to wait for me and luckily enough, I reached at 9 and there was enough time for me to give Jessica what we made for her and to TOP things off, we placed a cherry on each cupcake. Since I had an extra class today, I went up at 10 and waited for almost an hour together with the rest of the class as the lecturer came in late. As an apology, the lecturer followed us for lunch and introduced to us a new spot which I think served a nice plate of spaghetti for a reasonable price. After lunch, we headed back to college and went back to studying for our assessment exam next week. Wah Sheng, An Yi, Jessica and I decided to remain in the canteen to revise whereas Jo Ey and Reuben were craftier and went to a class to study, in an air-conditioned room. After completing a set of papers, we agreed to call it a day and chose to get a ice-cream at Burger King’s which was in KL Sentral. We sat there and talked for an hour. It is always nice to exchange opinions with peers and it also helps understanding the other party better regardless of that person’s gender. I’ve always felt that talking to each other often helps in the process of bonding and it definitely brings people closer to each other with every word said. So finally at 5.30, we walked our separate ways and went home to study, AGAIN. I did what I was supposed to till 10 and I went out to shoot some hoops as I have not been exercising for quite some time. After the short shootaround, I came back and ate a snack which my father bought and went upstairs to go online and update you guys on my day. I guess there isn’t much left to say here and I hope I am able to concentrate on my studies tomorrow as I’m still feeling the effect of sleeping at 3 two days before. Signing off, guys!
