So today I went out with a group of my classmates to celebrate Yew Keong's birthday. Before we met up for the Dark Knight Rises, Terence and I were exercising and we tried to leave as early as possible to avoid being late for it. Alas, we only managed to get there on time and we had to sneak in our breakfast+lunch (well, at least it was for me) into the hall. Chicken foldover (Awww yeahhh!). Anyway, what became one of the main events that happened today besides celebrating Keong's birthday and catching up with old pals was the theft (yes, a lost wallet and a stolen wallet is totally different) of Hon Mun's wallet. He was showing Terence that he had no small change and then he joined Wen Jin, Han Yang, Foo and Keong for Daytona. Suddenly, he realised that his wallet was missing so all of us started hunting around for it. According to him, he might have just misplaced it for less than 2 minutes and poof! It was magically gone. It was seriously ridiculous for the wallet to disappear since Han Yui and I were practically behind the group which meant we would definitely see the wallet if it even fell to the ground. Being one of the few wannabe detectives between the seven of us, I suspected that one of the workers had taken the wallet and passed it secretly to his colleagues who were behind the counter but I didn't want to say a word to see what would ensue. Immediately after I brushed away that suspicion, Han Yang came up to me and was like, hey, you know what? I think that guy took Hon Mun's wallet. Suspicion confirmed. He was acting too fishy and we both tried to stare the truth out of him but to no avail. Lol. Anyway, Hon Mun then gave the cashiers a.k.a the accomplices his number to contact him in case they found his "lost" wallet. I told everyone to scram immediately after the game to see if we were right and so right after we were done, we went for a game of pool. By the way, there's only 10 bucks in his wallet. I guess the people who took it really needed the money to buy food to "buka puasa" (that's right, folks). Midway through our game, Hon Mun received a call and all of us assumed it was from the arcade and then he hurried off. True enough, he came back with his wallet minus the 10 bucks. Were they really that desperate for cash? They could have just told us so and maybe I would have just gone down to get them some "wan tan mee". Oh yeah, that's right. That's got pork in it. Totally forgot about it but the point is that, what has our world shaped its people into? What happened to honesty and integrity? We were right at the place when the wallet went missing and come on, if you wanna steal someone else's wallet, don't let your body language give you away. Looking constantly at others and fidgeting continuously really let the cat out of the bag but hey, at least you've got a conscience since you still feel guilty (hopefully they did). I guess that's all I have to say for now. Just a random thought though.
