It's The Thought That Matters

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually feeling bushed from yesterday's activities. From the moment I got up from bed till now, as I'm typing this out, I feel like just going back to bed. Might be getting old here. Haha. Anyway, something happened today which really amused and annoyed me both at the same time. For those who saw my status update in Facebook, you would know what I'm talking about but those who didn't, here's what happened.

Me: Hello, may I know if there's a vacancy in your shop?
Girl: Err, what were you saying?
Me: I want to know if there's a position for me to fill.
Girl: Erm, what's that ar?
Me: Can I work in your shop?
Girl: Err....
Me: Is there work in your shop? (in Mandarin)
Girl: Ohhh! You can come fill in some forms later. (in Mandarin)

I can't believe the company actually hired someone who couldn't even understand such simple English. For every time she said "Erm", I practically downgraded my vocabulary to virtually suit a caveman who would go "Herr durrr whuuttt errr you herpp want?" so that he could understand what the heck I was talking about. Unfortunately for that girl, her command of English is, I mean IS, below the level of a troll. I don't mean to be mean here but come on, you're working in a freaking computer shop and you can't understand simple English? How the hell are the customers going to tell you that their hard-drives are malfunctioning, motherboards burnt out or their computers need reformatting? *sigh* Luckily for me, I won't be working there since they only want someone who could work full-time (thank God for that).
